Can I get a grant for my stairlift?
Uxbridge belongs to the London Borough of Hillingdon council. If you’re looking for a grant or loan from the council, you may be able to seak a financial contribution towards your stairlift. This falls under the councils “Disabled facilities grants and adaptations” which you can read more about here: https://archive.hillingdon.gov.uk/article/12900/Disabled-facilities-grants-and-adaptations
The website states that: “DFGs are available for disabled people, when works to adapt their home are deemed necessary and appropriate to meet their needs. Applicants will be means-tested (unless the work is for a child under 18 years old). Applicants in receipt of certain types of benefits are also exempted. The maximum grant is £30,000. The means test will also highlight if you will need to make a contribution to the costs.”
This shows that grants are available to those that qualify for them. Grants are a lengthy process however and it may not always be the best solution. If you’re looking for an immediate stairlift service, working with a provider like DLSL is the solution that’s right for you. Our team can provide, fit and install a stairlift into your home in no time. Once scheduled, we’ll be sure to stick to our deadlines to ensure you get a stairlift that fulfils your needs.
